08.31.2010 +++ Jenny and Johnny - Release day, new online store, and new merch designs
A big day for another one of our clients, Jenny and Johnny (Jenny Lewis and bf Johnathan Rice). Their debut record, ‘I’m Having Fun Now’, comes out today. If you’re in Hollywood, swing down to Amoeba tonight around 7pm to catch an in-store performance.
Additionally, the new webstore we designed and developed for them just launched. This one is built on Big Cartel’s awesome, simple store platform.

Available in the new store is a grip of merch that we designed for the release, based on Jenny and Johnny’s personal vest and jacket. These turned out great, sort of biker meets hipster.

08.25.2010 +++ Higher Primate Launches!
Today we bring you a project that we’ve been working on with Joe Rogan for quite some time now. It’s been under wraps for over a year but today we’re finally launching the site and the new line, Higher Primate.
It’s funny, we’re launching with 4 tees and it seems like, to the outsider, “hey, that’s easy enough. slap graphics on 4 tees and throw up a webstore, right?” But in reality, a lot of blood, sweat and tears have gone into the creation of this line and the initial tees over the past year. From getting the designs just right to going through just about every blank garment manufacturer we could get our hands on, to dialing in the printed samples, developing the special hang-tags, designing and developing the site, building out the webstore with GoMerch, and everything in between.
We’re honored that Joe trusted us enough to work on the design, branding, and development of his baby.. a line of clothing that tells quite the story and is inspired by everything from the teachings of Terrance McKenna and his experimentation with Hallucinogens to Einstein’s research in relativity.. more of which will be revealed as the onion peels.
We’re excited to see where this goes.

08.16.2010 +++ Jimmy Eat World gearing up for new release!
We’re stoked to be working with Jimmy Eat World again this year on the development of their new merch line. New record, Invented, is coming in September, and we’re currently working with the band, management, and their merch company on developing the goods for tour, the online store, and retail shops. So far it’s looking like the best round of Jimmy Eat World merch yet…
Stay tuned for more info and product shots. For now, check out the first tee and sticker that’s been released as part of the online store’s album pre-order packages. Pickup the CD package here, or the Vinyl package here.

06.10.2010 +++ Black Rebel Motorcycle Club Merch
So as you know by now, we’ve been doing a lot with BRMC this year. The new record with our packaging, Beat The Devil’s Tattoo has been released, the new site and online store we built has launched and the new merch line we developed is flying off the proverbial shelves. Below is a screengrab of the site as well as the full merch line and a shot of the merch booth from the band’s Echoplex earlier this year. (Show was packed. Band sounded amazing - get out to a show if you haven’t already.)

06.09.2010 +++ Artus Clothing - Go Buy It.
So awhile back we did a bunch of design work for a little indie art-based clothing line called Artus Clothing. We’ve developed quite a bit for them over the years. Below are a few of the pieces we designed for them a couple of years ago that are finally up for purchase. We wish these guys the best! Go buy stuff from them!

05.16.2010 +++ Lords Of Liverpool - Now available at Kitson & SELF Magazine Blog write-up!
As many of you know, we’re the designers and creative directors behind the line of officially licensed Beatles-lyric tees known as Lords of Liverpool. We’ve designed all the graphics for the tees, helped develop the garments and color-ways, did all the production prep and tech packs, designed & developed the website, and even helped get their new offices up and running on Apple products. Great line, great people behind it, and good times all around.
The line is getting ready to roll out in stores nationwide in the coming weeks, from Pacific Sunwear to Delia’s, and many others in the works.
Some tees are already available through the new online boutique Crush On Cotton and just this week they made their debut at Kitson stores throughout LA and Dari Boutique in Studio City. Below are some quick shots from the displays from both Kitson on Melrose in West Hollywood and Dari Boutique.

Additionally the line is starting to get some great press like this little blurb on SELF Magazine’s Style Secrets Blog.
It’s primarily Juniors designs right now but Men’s are on the way, along with new styles, more designs, hoodies… Keep a lookout! This is going to be huge!

04.13.2010 +++ Crystal Castles Announce Their Second Album; New Merch.
We’re pleased to be doing merchandise design and development for Crystal Castles. The LA show last night at the Echoplex blew out of the merch before the band even went on stage. The pieces we’ve designed for them were collaborations with the band and our printing partner absolutely NAILED the prints. This is gonna be fun…
As you may have guessed, CC has a new record coming out and the blogs are blowing up about it. A few of those links are here for your reading enjoyment:
Pitchfork | Drowned In Sound | NMA | more…
Black Eye Tee - a recreation of a tee made for the band by a retailer in South America.

Sad Face Tee - Classic.

Doe Deer Tee - Image and layout supplied by the band, we freaked it and treated it for apparel and printed with the softest print you’ve ever seen. Turned out great.

01.15.2010 +++ votemraz.com - the battle has begun
We just officially launched, VOTEMRAZ.COM, the first site of it’s kind for an artist (that we know of at least), allowing fans to vote on and decide the fate of artist merch. We developed the concept with management, then did the design and development on a quick 2-day turn. Pretty simple concept to start, but hugely powerful. The design(s) with the most votes win. This particular site for Jason includes a selection of Valentine’s Day themed tees but will be rolled out and developed further to include all kinds of fan involvement in a variety of different aspects of Jason’s career, music, merch and touring. It’s a great way to solidify the connection between artist and fan, while taking some of the guesswork out of the selection process for the artist and management. Everybody wins.
