Today’s a big day for Fitz & The Tantrums. Their new album, Pickin’ Up The Pieces (which we did the design and art direction for) is out today on Dangerbird Records! Much love to Noelle, Fitz, the rest of the band, Lisa & Brian, and the Dangerbird crew! We had a blast working with these guys and we think they are the bee’s knees!
If you’re in Hollywood today, swing down to Amoeba Records at 7pm for a Fitz & The Tantrums in-store. We’ll be there too if you want to say hey.
Big day for Margaret Cho and hew new music/comedy album, Cho Dependent. In stores today - if you’re a fan - or at least not easily offended - go pick it up! Then again, if you were easily offended, you wouldn’t be here now would you?
We did the full album and vinyl package layout and design for this one, with an original painting by Shawn Barber as the cover.
It’s Lobsterfest time of year again! This year was all about elevating the entertainment of the fest and making a fresh, bold statement with the imaging. It’s going to be a great year, with a few bands we’ve worked with over the past couple of years (Fitz & The Tantrums, AWOLNATION, The Section Quartet), and a bunch of other good ones. Plus, lobster, obviously.
We did the posters again this year, drawing on the old 80’s movie poster theme. Check them out below, and take a stroll through the new site!
We did a bunch of merch for BOH a little while back and the design below ended up getting used as a poster for the Williamsburg Waterfront show! Check it out below and go buy it HERE!
This was a great project. One of those that just “found us” through a bunch of separate referrals from friends and friends of friends. One we were hoping to work on. And a quick one. I think we had a week total to bang this out, from photo shoot with the wonderful Piper Ferguson through delivery of the package to Rory and Matt over at Dangerbird Records.
A big thanks to Lisa Nupoff, Brian Klein, Rory Wilson, Matt Solodky, Peter Walker, Piper Ferguson, Fitz, Noelle, and the rest of the band.
This was truly a labor of love, really getting into the nitty gritty with Fitz at the studio, and we’re stoked with how it turned out. We really went out on a limb with the concept on this one and luckily it resonated with everyone. Once we get the CD and Vinyl in our hands we’ll shoot it, but for now, here’s the cover!
Chris Shiflett is a long time friend and client of ours. We’ve worked with him on a variety of projects, from Foo Fighters merch and single packaging to Jackson United merch and album packaging, and now his new side project, Chris Shiflett & The Dead Peasants.
Album is scheduled to be released July 13th in CD, Digital, and Vinyl formats. Preorder it here. This one turned out great, drawing on Chris’s Santa Barbara roots throughout the package. We’ll post product shots once we have it in our hands but for now, here’s the cover:
Chris and the boys have been playing a bunch of warm up shows up and down the west coast. Played a great show at the Bootleg Theatre here in LA last night actually. If you’re in Long Beach tonight, go see them at Alex’s Bar. Show starts at 9pm.
Margaret Cho is releasing a new comedy music album on August 24th and we were tapped to do the logo and album package. You can see the full cover and album details here. Cover art is actually a piece by Shawn Barber and we don’t want to steal his thunder there, so we’ve posted just the logo portion below. It turned out pretty sweet though and once we get the CD aqnd Vinyl in-hand we’ll shoot it for proper product shots.
I bet anyone who went to the LCD Soundsystem show is getting handed one of these right now as the walk out. HELL YEAH! We love The Fillmore! Thanks Arlene!
We couldn’t be more pleased with the way our Black Rebel Motorcycle club vinyl and CD album package turned out. From the vinyl cover die cut to the limited edition “black” CD the whole piece really came together. Check it…
This year for 311 day in Las Vegas we whipped up a super sweet silkscreen poster and collectors program. The program featured some very intricate spot uv on the cover which turned out fantastic!
We’ve been hold-up in the studio working on the roll-out for AWOLNATION’s epic movie re-releases and documentaries for the past few weeks. With help from our stratecig partners, the amazing guys over at The Nova Project, this has come together beautifully and the new micro-sites have launched today. Thanks also to Piper Ferguson for the amazing photos! We’ve worked on these from concept through final product, developing the overall project and documentary concept, all print collateral, the micro-sites, the video footage, etc.. and we’re stoked on how everything came together! AWOLNATION is BACK in a BIG way!!!
Check out the video embeds below, and get out your 3D glasses!!
If you’re down in Austin, keep an eye out for AWOLNATION flags on pedicabs and cheerleader squads passing out AWOLNATION 3D Glasses. Get your tickets now!
(Wait, are these real movies? Re-release? Oh no.. I’ve said too much….)
We have once again had the pleasure of working with our pals, Twin Atlantic, on artwork for their new single, “Lightspeed,” set to be released on March 1st. If you stare at this too long you will actually travel back in time so view with caution.
